Deeper healing and lasting changes - achieve true inner peace with somatic approach!

“Trauma is not what happens to you, it is what happens inside of you as a result of that.”

— Dr Gabor Mate

Hello, dear friend! I am Laine

I am a Somatic Trauma Therapist dedicated to helping sensitive, ambitious individuals find lasting inner peace and emotional resilience.

My approach is rooted in internationally recognized, neuroscience-based methods: Somatic Experiencing, Compassionate Inquiry (by Dr. Gabor Maté), and Somatic Parts Work (inspired by Internal Family Systems).

I support people who experience anxiety, depression, or emotional overwhelm to:

  • Heal deep-rooted emotional patterns and trauma

  • Learn effective self-regulation for emotions and stress

  • Cultivate harmonious relationships and greater fulfillment in work and life

Why Somatic Therapy?

Many clients come to me after years of traditional talk therapy, still feeling stuck. That’s because trauma and chronic stress aren’t just stored in the mind—they’re held in the body and nervous system. Modern neuroscience and Polyvagal Theory show that true healing happens when we address both body and mind.

Somatic Experiencing gently releases traumatic stress from the nervous system, while Compassionate Inquiry integrates somatic and cognitive healing. This unique combination helps you access and resolve the root causes of symptoms like:

  • Anxiety, depression, and emotional reactivity

  • Burnout, chronic pain, and medically unexplained symptoms

  • Dissociation and stress-related illnesses

As Dr. Peter Levine, founder of Somatic Experiencing, says:

"Traumatic symptoms are not caused by the event itself, but by the unresolved survival energy left in the nervous system."

Somatic trauma therapy is often more effective and faster at addressing root causes than traditional talk therapy alone. Instead of years, profound change can happen within months—helping you reclaim your life, confidence, and joy.

What is Somatic Experiencing®?

Somatic Experiencing® is a gentle, body-based therapeutic approach designed to help individuals resolve and heal the effects of trauma and chronic stress.

Developed by Dr. Peter Levine, Somatic Experiencing is grounded in neuroscience and the understanding that trauma is not just a psychological event, but also a physiological one, stored in the body’s nervous system.

Unlike traditional talk therapy, which focuses primarily on thoughts and memories, Somatic Experiencing works with the body’s innate ability to process and release the survival energy that becomes trapped during overwhelming or distressing experiences.

In practice, this means paying close attention to physical sensations, subtle bodily cues, and the natural rhythms of the nervous system. Through carefully guided awareness, clients learn to notice and safely discharge tension, incomplete fight-or-flight responses, and suppressed emotions.

This process restores balance, resilience, and a sense of safety in the body and mind. Sessions are paced to avoid overwhelming the nervous system, and special attention is given to resourcing—helping clients access feelings of safety and support as they work through difficult sensations.

By addressing trauma at its root in the body, Somatic Experiencing can lead to profound shifts: reducing anxiety, depression, and emotional reactivity, while fostering greater self-awareness, emotional regulation, and lasting inner peace.

What is Compassionate Inquiry®?

Compassionate Inquiry® is a therapeutic approach developed by renowned trauma expert Dr. Gabor Maté.

This method combines elements of somatic awareness and gentle, curiosity-driven questioning to help clients uncover the deeper emotional patterns and unconscious beliefs that shape their behaviors and experiences.

By fostering a safe and empathetic therapeutic relationship, Compassionate Inquiry guides individuals to connect with their authentic selves, recognize the roots of their suffering, and develop greater self-understanding and self-compassion.

In practice, Compassionate Inquiry might look like gently exploring a client’s persistent anxiety, tracing it back to early childhood moments when they felt unseen or unsupported.

For example, one client struggling with perfectionism discovered, through Compassionate Inquiry, that her drive to excel stemmed from a childhood belief that love had to be earned through achievement. As she recognized and processed this old narrative, she began to experience more ease and self-acceptance in her daily life.

Another client who often felt “numb” in relationships realized during sessions that this emotional shutdown was a protective response learned in a household where expressing feelings was discouraged. By bringing compassionate attention to these sensations and memories, he gradually learned to trust his emotions, communicate more openly, and build deeper connections with loved ones.

Compassionate Inquiry sessions may also involve noticing subtle shifts in posture, breath, or tone of voice—a client might clench their fists while discussing a difficult topic, signaling unexpressed anger or fear.

By inviting curiosity about these sensations, clients can safely explore and release long-held emotions, leading to greater freedom and resilience.

Rather than focusing solely on surface-level symptoms, Compassionate Inquiry supports clients in safely exploring and releasing old narratives, integrating difficult emotions, and experiencing profound healing and personal growth.

Many clients describe feeling lighter, more authentic, and empowered to make meaningful changes in their lives as a result of this process.

Somatic trauma therapy sessions are for you if:

  1. You experience chronic anxiety, overwhelm, or emotional reactivity that feels difficult to manage, even after trying traditional talk therapy.

  2. You struggle with symptoms like depression, burnout, dissociation, or unexplained physical pain that don’t seem to improve with conventional approaches.

  3. You notice patterns of people-pleasing, perfectionism, or difficulty setting boundaries, and want to understand and shift these behaviors at a deeper level.

  4. You feel stuck in old emotional patterns or memories—such as childhood wounds, relationship struggles, or past traumas—that still impact your daily life.

  5. You desire practical tools to regulate your nervous system and manage stress, so you can feel more grounded, resilient, and in control.

  6. You’re seeking a gentle, body-based approach that goes beyond talking, helping you connect with your inner sensations and release stored tension or trauma.

  7. You want to experience more inner peace, self-acceptance, and emotional freedom, rather than just coping with symptoms.

  8. You have tried other therapies but sense that something deeper in your body or nervous system needs attention and healing.

  9. You wish to improve your relationships, communication, and ability to set healthy boundaries—both at home and at work.

  10. You’re ready to invest in your well-being and embark on a journey of self-discovery, healing, and lasting transformation.
